APS DPP Annual Meeting

64th Annual Meeting of the APS Division of Plasma Physics

General Information

The 64th Annual Meeting of the APS Division of Plasma Physics (DPP) will be held in Spokane, Washington, October 17-21, 2022. All technical sessions will be held in the Spokane Convention Center, located at 334 West Spokane Falls Boulevard, Spokane, Washington 99201. The Davenport Grand Hotel is located at 333 West Spokane Falls Boulevard, Spokane, Washington, 99201, with an indoor walkway connection to the Spokane Convention Center.

Travel time from the Spokane International Airport (GEG) to The Davenport Hotel is approximately 7.8 miles to The Davenport Hotel. There is a variety of ground transportation vehicles available outside of baggage claim.

Poster Session boards are freestanding, with a display area measuring four (4) feet high by eight (8) feet wide. Pushpins are provided.

All oral presentations will be set to project widescreen 16.9 format.

Meeting Format

APS-DPP is pleased to announce that all of the sessions (including Review, Invited, Tutorial, Oral Contributed, and Mini-Conferences) will be live-streamed from Spokane. Those presenters who will not be in Spokane will be able to give their talks remotely through a Zoom interface. Virtual audience members will be able to ask presenters questions via text chat.

Additionally, poster presenters will have the option to present either live in Spokane or virtually during a dedicated time period a t the end of each live poster session. Live poster presenters are encouraged to participate in the virtual poster session as well.

As the meeting approaches, we are also preparing for the banquet. This year, we plan to host a presentation during dinner, “A stroll through DPP history”. This presentation will also initiate an archiving of our DPP story. If you have any DPP pictures or memorabilia you are willing to share with the community via this presentation, please send your remembrances to Saralyn Stewart (stewart@physics.utexas.edu) no later than August 31, 2022.
