APS Policies and Guidelines | Code of Conduct for APS Meetings

Attendees of any APS in-person or virtual events are expected to meet standards of professional conduct as described in the APS Code of Conduct. Violations of these standards may disqualify people from future participation.

General Information

The year 2025 is an opportunity to celebrate 100 years of quantum science and technology. On June 7, 2024, the United Nations proclaimed 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ). Join APS in raising public awareness of the importance of quantum science and its applications and inspiring the next generation of quantum physicists.

The first ever in-person Career Fair is being planned during the DAMOP Meeting this year. Partner with APS Careers to promote research and understanding of quantum physics while advancing your goals to attract top physics talent. The Career Fair will begin on Tuesday, June 17 through Thursday, June 19, at the Oregon Convention Center, Portland, Oregon.

Jobseeker Information

Registration to attend the Career Fair is free of charge for those who have registered to attend the DAMOP meeting. In order to register, you must have an APS Job Board account. Job Seekers must go to the APS Job Board at any time to create an account. To register to the attend the Career Fair in person, click her e.

Career Counseling Help Desk

For the first time at this meeting, a Career Counseling Help Desk will be offered during the Career Fair. The help desk consists of 30-min appointment slots during which students, early career scientists, and/or job seekers can sign up to meet one-on-one with an APS Career Mentoring Fellow. These appointments are for career guidance purposes, such as help with the job search, resume/CV review, or general careers-related questions, and should not be considered an interview.

Must I be an APS member in order to participate in the Job Fair?

No, you just need to register for the Career Fair through the link provided above. Registration for early career scientists is free.

How do I see a listing of all job postings?

Visit the APS Job Board to view all job postings and on-site, a QR code will also be available on site to view all the job postings.

How do I request an interview/apply?

On the days of the event, you can visit the employers at their table, or follow instructions listed on the job postings.

Where will career fair interviews be conducted?

Employers will independently schedule and conduct private interviews with job seekers. There will be a private interview space around the Career Fair area at the Oregon Convention Center, where the DAMOP meeting will be held.
