GSCCM Biennial Meeting

22nd Biennial Conference of the APS Topical Group on Shock Compression of Condensed Matter (SHOCK22)

July 10-July 15, 2022 • Anaheim, California

Meeting Format

This year’s meeting will take on a hybrid format – different in structure from either a fully in-person meeting or the remote meetings of the past two years. Our hope is that the hybrid format will expand the reach of the SHOCK Meeting while bringing back the strengths of the in-person meeting.

Plenary Sessions (live-streamed for remote participants)

Plenary sessions for SHOCK will be live-streamed to the meeting’s virtual platform. Speakers in these sessions will be able to present in-person in Anaheim or remotely. Remote meeting attendees will be able to submit questions to the speakers during the session. Further, these sessions will be recorded and made available on-demand to all registered attendees. If you are a plenary speaker that would like to submit a video instead, please contact virtual-events-help@aps.org.

Invited and Contributed Sessions (pre-recorded for remote participants) - Deadline Extended until July 7, 2022

Invited and Contributed oral sessions will not be live-streamed. All speakers in contributed sessions, whether attending in-person or participating remotely will need to submit a recorded version of their talk by 5:00 pm ET, July 7, 2022. Presenters in Anaheim, will be able to give their talk to the audience as they have in the past. APS will play recorded versions of talks contributed by remote presenters during the in-person sessions. Remote attendees will only be able to view the recorded talks and will be able to ask questions of speakers off-line through an asynchronous chat window in the virtual platform.
