The last day for early registration is June 17, 2022, at 11:59 pm EDT.

The higher registration fees start at 12:00 am on June 18, 2022.

Member Registration

Members receive substantial discounts compared to non-members. You can join APS and SHOCK, renew, or reinstate your membership when you register for the meeting.

Non-Member Registration

The non-member fee is higher for both early and on-site registration. Save on registration fees by joining APS and SHOCK.

Non-members may register online. If you are not yet a member and wish to receive member discounts, you may join APS and SHOCK when you register.

International Attendee Registration Visa Information

We strongly recommend international attendees review the APS visa information before registering for the annual meeting. To avoid visa-related problems, review the Visa Delays page. For additional information, review the Entering the United States page.

Visa Letter of Invitation

If you require a personal letter of invitation to attend the SHOCK annual meeting contact abs-help@aps.org. To avoid delay when requesting a letter please include:

  • Your name as it appears on your passport
  • Your affiliation and mailing address
  • Your submitted abstract title and co-authors

Allow 5-7 business days to receive your letter of invitation for visa application.

Students join APS!

  • Join APS and SHOCK before registering: (1) Wait approximately 2 business days to receive verification of status, (2) register for the SHOCK annual meeting. Students who have been approved to join and have registered for the SHOCK annual meeting can immediately print a receipt.

Members of APS Reciprocal Societies

Members of APS Reciprocal Societies may register at the Regular APS member rate. This can be done online or on-site.

  • Regular Reciprocal Members: To register online, on the registration page, click "Log In to Register" and then choose “Don’t have an account” or “Forgot your password.”

Once you are in your account, choose “Edit my Demographics” to select your reciprocal society. Then you may register for the meeting.

  • Student reciprocal society members will not see the student rates. You must send proof of undergrad or graduate student status and the preferred method of participation (in-person or virtual) to registrar@aps.org.

Matching Membership Program

Through the Matching Membership Program, individuals residing in developing countries may apply for free membership.

Cancellation Policies

Deadline: Thursday, July 7, 2022

Banquet tickets are non-refundable for both pre-meeting and on-site purchases. If you cancel your registration, you must do so in writing (email accepted). Written cancellations must be sent to APS the APS Registrar by Thursday, July 7. All cancellations are assessed a $50 cancellation fee regardless of the reason for canceling.
