By Michael R Brown posted 04-13-2021 13:03

The Physics-Division Office (P-DO) is seeking outstanding candidates for the full-time position of R&D Manager 4/Group Leader (GL) in our newly formed group P-4, Thermonuclear Plasma Physics. Physics Division recently restructured, yielding four new groups. All of our new groups will house capabilities ranging from the most fundamental discovery science to mission-relevant research. The new group P-4 is centered around one of our key competencies: the design, execution and analysis of experiments in extremely high-energy density conditions, inertial confinement fusion and magnetized plasmas, including the development of relevant detectors and cameras. The group frequently conducts experiments at the National Ignition Facility at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), the Laboratory for Laser Energetics at the University of Rochester, the z-Machine at Sandia National Laboratories, and the Wendelstein 7-X Stellarator in Germany. Some of P-4’s staff have their duty station at LLNL.
