DPP 2020 platform (Bravura)

Here is an update of what to expect when you upload content to the Bravura platform, and when you participate in DPP 2020 the week of November 9, 2020.  There will be more detailed instructions coming shortly from APS for presenters and session chairs.  I would like to introduce four aspects of the platform: speaker console, attendee console, webinar format, and networking format.

First, we anticipate opening access to the platform several days before the conference.  Access will be through your APS user account and password, and available only for registered attendees.  There will be a “speaker” console available for all presenters.  Presenters will be able to upload content before the meeting including posters or PowerPoint (including multiple pages), a video tour of the poster (which can be recorded on the platform or your own MP4), searchable keywords, and a speaker profile.  Next, when DPP 2020 begins, speakers will access the same speaker console before their session.  Bravura technicians will help with preparing for the session, and help the session chair who will keep speakers on time and field online questions.  Speakers will have control during their talk (advancing slides and pointing to content).  There will be an “attendee” console to view content and participate in the meeting.  Attendees can generate their own personal schedule, access message boards for any presenter, and search the program for content.  During a talk, attendees can ask questions through a Q&A portal (to the session chair), or via a chat box that everyone can view.  Posters will be viewable before, during, and after the meeting.  Questions and comments for poster presenters can be made anytime.  Video interaction with poster presenters will be available only during the assigned times.  Finally, town halls and events will be either a “webinar” format (with moderator, panel, public chat, and Q&A), or a “networking” format (with breakout rooms, informal conversation and discussion).

If permission was granted by the author, all content for DPP 2020 will be available for future, asynchronous viewing both during the week of the conference and a year afterward.  Recorded content will be available within an hour after recording.  Access will be through your APS user account and password, and available only for registered attendees.

There will be detailed instructions for speakers, poster presenters, session chairs, and attendees in the next few days. #FeaturedNews
