Prof. Carla Puglia, Physics and Astronomy Department at Universty of  Uppsala 
Biography:
Carla Puglia is the Director of the Physics Program at the International Science Programme (ISP), Uppsala University in Sweden. ISP is a unit working with research and education capability building in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in low- and lower middle-income countries. She is also responsible for the ISP program promoting the access of girls to higher education and research at the supported institutions.  As Professor in Condensed Matter Physics, at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at UU, she leads a research activity focused on synchrotron based spectroscopic characterization of molecular materials with potential applications in renewal energy devices. Carla has worked for a long time with internationalization, as Masters’ program and Erasmus exchange coordinator. She also created a Masters’ Program for double and triple degrees with other two European Universities (Sorbonne in France and University of Antwerp in Belgium).
Abstract:

Prof. Urbasi Sinha will explore the journey of quantum science in India, from fundamental studies in quantum foundations to practical applications in the field. The talk will highlight key experiments, technological developments, and the translation of quantum principles into real-world devices, illustrating how India has contributed to both the theoretical and applied aspects of quantum science. Insights into collaborative efforts, educational initiatives, and challenges in bridging laboratory research with field deployment will also be discussed.
