DPP Career Profiles

Many APS-DPP members began with degrees in a wide range of science and engineering disciplines, including physics, astronomy, engineering (electrical, nuclear, mechanical, etc.), computer science, and more. But many also found jobs through unexpected pathways and disciplines: no single person’s story is the same. APS-DPP members typically work in academia, national laboratories, and industry. As the field of fusion energy and plasma science grows, it is expected that new jobs to carry out the development of new facilities and technology programs will require expanded focus beyond the typical plasma physics development path and into a wider array of engineering/technology disciplines.
