March Meeting Session Proposals
The DSOFT program committee requests your proposals for Focus sessions, Invited sessions, and Short Course/Tutorials for the 2024 March meeting in Minneapolis, MN. We are committed to presenting a program that highlights the full scientific and cultural diversity of DSOFT, and we request your engagement in this process: your submissions will help ensure the best possible scientific program. We particularly encourage submissions from junior scientists, including graduate students, postdocs, and junior faculty. Descriptions of these proposals, and their deadlines, are as follows:
Focus Sessions (due by May 5th, 2023) include 1-2 invited talks and 9-12 contributed talks and are intended to promote topics of particular interest to the DSOFT community. Submit your focus session proposal here.

Invited sessions (due by June 15th, 2023) consist of 5 invited talks and are intended to highlight frontier research in a topic of interest to the DSOFT community. Submit your invited session proposal here.

Tutorials (due by June 15th, 2023) are separate workshops held on the Sunday before the March Meeting (March 3, 2024) consisting of four one-hour pedagogical talks on a specific topic. Each tutorial is four hours long (Morning tutorials are 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM, afternoon tutorials are 1:30 - 5:30 PM). Tutorials should be designed to bring researchers up to speed on a new or rapidly developing field or teach a technique to new users. Submit your tutorial proposal here.
Short Courses (due by June 15th, 2023) are unit-led and feature an intensive course on a particular topic relevant to that unit. They are typically one full day (8:30 AM to 5:30 PM) but may vary depending on the course structure and needs. Courses are designed for graduate students, postdocs, and other early-career scientists, though they are open to all conference attendees. Submit your short course proposal here.
Proposals for Tutorials/Short Courses should include:
1. A descriptive title
2. The nominator's name, affiliation, and email address
3. Names of 1-2 possible organizers
4. A one-paragraph description addressing timeliness and relevance
5. Target audience
