DSOFT Can Help You Host Your Event!

Organizers of non-APS conferences, symposia and workshops are invited to apply to DSOFT for sponsorship of up to $500 for their event. Successful applications will align with the following DSOFT priorities:

  1. inclusion of students and other early-career researchers and those from under-represented groups
  2. participatory aspects beyond just talks and posters
  3. regional meetings
  4. connections between industrial and academic participants

Student conference organizers are particularly encouraged to apply. Organizers of Gordon Research Conferences and Symposiums are also eligible for sponsorship. However, applications to support meetings run by for-profit institutions, or by other professional societies of similar standing to APS will not be considered.

To request sponsorship, organizers should complete this application at least 2 months prior to the event. Applications should clearly demonstrate how DSOFT funds will be used to support the goals of the division outlined above (e.g., student travel). Organizers will also agree to provide public credit for the sponsorship and have DSOFT literature available for attendees.

Sponsorship applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and awarded until funds are expended for the fiscal year. Decisions will be made by the Funding Priority Committee of the DSOFT EC within 1 month of receiving the application.
