DNP Education Committee

The APS Division of Nuclear Physics is committed to playing its part in the education of the next generation of nuclear scientists. It seeks to facilitate the ongoing work of universities and colleges around the country as they teach students about nuclear science and engage them in research. The Education Committee is the main point of contact for the Division's efforts in this regard.

The Education Committee:

Maintains and updates a brochure on USA graduate school opportunities in nuclear physics. This brochure was last updated in October 2025. Please contact the chair of the DNP-EDU committee with questions, feedback, and new submissions
Assists as needed with the annual Conference Experience for Undergraduates at the Fall DNP meeting.
Organizes workshops for early-career researchers.
Curates a set of online nuclear physics educational resources.
Recommends awards for the DNP graduate student travel grant.
Monitors the health of nuclear-physics research and education in the US by collecting data on how many nuclear-physics faculty are employed at graduate-degree granting institutions.
Hosts occasional social events for graduate students and post-docs. These events typically take place during the DNP Fall meetings.
