Note that you will need to be a member of APS with an APS web account to log in to the nomination system.
To create your symposium nomination, select the “Invited Symposium Nomination” submission type and sorting category 04 (DBIO). Then enter information about the topic of the symposium describing its timeliness and relevance for the field. Please propose five exceptional invited talks and up to two alternates. Your proposal should estimate the session's expected attendance, with an appropriate justification. Sessions with confirmed speakers will have a higher probability of being chosen.
Please note the following guidelines for submitting a nomination:
- Invited Symposium Nominations must include (5) invited speakers, (2) alternate speakers, (1) Session Chair
- Invited Speakers can not give an invited talk two years in a row. For example, if a speaker gave an invited talk at the March Meeting 2024, they cannot be nominated to give an invited talk at the March Meeting 2025. March Meeting 2024 Invited Speakers list.
The membership of APS is diverse and global, and the nominees for invited talks should reflect that diversity so that all are recognized for their impact on our community. Nominations of members belonging to groups traditionally underrepresented in physics, such as women, LGBT+ scientists, scientists who are Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC), disabled scientists, scientists from non-research universities and scientists from outside the United States are especially encouraged.
We look forward to your nominations!
