GMAG is excited to forward to its membership the following prize nomination call from the International Union for Pure and Applied Physics, Commission on Magnetism C9: 2023 IUPAP Early Career Scientist Prize in the field of Magnetism Established in 2016, the IUPAP Young Scientist Prize (recently renamed Early Career Scientist Prize ) in the field of Magnetism is awarded every year to a scientist for theoretical or experimental work in fundamental or applied magnetism. Subject: Nominations for GMAG Student Travel Awards To increase student participation and involvement in activities essential to GMAG and the APS, GMAG will sponsor up to ten Student Travel Awards for the March Meeting. The awards will consist of a dollar amount equivalent to the Student APS March meeting Registration in travel assistance to attend the meeting. An additional $200 is available for those students at institutions outside the United States. The annual Fall meeting of the New England sections (NES) of APS will be held on October 14th - 15th (Friday and Saturday) at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, with the exciting return of in-person meeting. The theme of the meeting is “spin polarization from nucleon to quantum matter”, which features recent developments of polarized targets in nuclear physics and magnetism in condensed matter physics. A 2-day Muon Workshop will be held on February 1-2, 2021. This workshop will provide the opportunity to listen to muon experts and discuss the possibility for constructing a future Muon facility in the US.
