GIMS Eigler Award

In honor of Donald M. Eigler, GIMS, in coordination with the organizers of the International Conference on Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), is proud to offer the Eigler Award biennially.

The Eigler Award is an early-career research award, recognizing outstanding doctoral research and innovative doctoral contributions to the field of scanning probe microscopy. Five finalists will be invited to present a talk during the finals at the STM conference, where the winner will be selected. The winner will be announced during the STM conference and will then be awarded both a travel reimbursement, as well as an invited talk at the following APS Global Physics Summit.

Nominees for and holders of APS Honors (prizes, awards, and fellowship) and official leadership positions are expected to meet standards of professional conduct and integrity as described in the APS Ethics Guidelines. Violations of these standards may disqualify people from consideration or lead to revocation of honors or removal from office.
