Student Travel Grant Program

Through this program, DLS provides partial funding (up to $1,000/grant) for travel expenses for a limited number of graduate or undergraduate students to attend and participate in person at CLEO, the APS Global Physics Summit meeting, or Frontiers In Optics/Laser Science (FIO/LS).

Qualifications

To be eligible: 

  • The student must be a member of DLS

  • The student’s mentor must also be a DLS member.

  • The student must be the presenting author on an accepted oral or poster presentation. 

***Students who have previously received a travel grant are not eligible for a second travel grant.

2026 APS Global Physics Summit (previously March Meeting)

Application opens: January 26

Application closes: February 12

2026 CLEO

Application opens: February 17

Application closes: March 15

2026 DLS FIO/LS

Application opens: June 1

Violations of these standards may disqualify people from consideration or lead to revocation of honors or removal from office.
