Fall 2025 Joint Meeting of TAOAPS, TSAAPT, and Zone 13 SPS at Texas Christian University on Oct. 9 - 11, 2025

We are pleased to announce the Fall 2025 Joint Meeting of the Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma Section of the APS, the Texas Section of the AAPT, and Zone 13 of the SPS (TSF25) to be held on October 9 – 11, 2025 at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX.

The meeting website can be found at https://taoaps.tcu.edu/. We encourage submissions for posters and contributed talks from ALL areas of physics. TAOAPS includes Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma, and we will appreciate participation from all three states of TAOAPS.

In addition to numerous exciting physics sessions, we expect to have some workshops organized by the Texas Section of AAPT.

Invited plenary speakers include:

  • Diana Berman (University of North Texas) – Tribology, Nanodevices
  • Puskar Chapagain (Southern Arkansas University) – Physics Education
  • Andrey Chabanov (University of Texas at San Antonio) – Photonics
  • Matthew Klein (Southern Methodist University) – Experimental Particle Physics
  • Nikole Neilsen (University of Oklahoma)  Astrophysics and Cosmology

The banquet speaker will be C. Magnus L. Rittby (Texas Christian University).

Registration to attend the meeting and abstract submission for contributed talks and poster presentations are now open.

  • The abstract submission deadline is Friday, September 12, 2025.
  • The early registration deadline is September 18, 2025.
  • The late registration period continues until Thursday, October 9, 2025.

We have a limited number of travel grants for students who are giving presentations at the meeting. The application form for student travel grants is available on the local host’s meeting site.

Outstanding Oral Presentation and Poster Awards will be given to graduate and undergraduate students based on the excellence of their physics research and the quality of their presentations. All students giving presentations will automatically be considered for these awards. Attendees with a PhD in physics or a related field are encouraged to volunteer as student presentation judges or session chairs.

The Steven Weinberg Award and Robert S. Hyer Research Award will be presented at the Fall 2025 TAOAPS meeting to one graduate and one undergraduate student, respectively, for excellence in physics research. Nominations should be submitted by Monday, September 22, 2025 through the links above.

The Texas Section Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma Section of the APS over several years. Nominations are due Monday, September 22, 2025.
