FECS Poster Competition

FECS hosts an annual poster competition for postdocs and early-career researchers at the Global Physics Summit. The first-prize award consists of $500 and a certificate; runners-up will receive a certificate and $100. Note: if you submit an abstract to this session you may still submit another abstract for an ordinary session (for a total of two abstracts).

Rules and Eligibility

Abstracts are accepted in any topic covered by the Global Physics Summit. FECS members within five years of earning their PhD are eligible to participate in the competition, regardless of professional title. Members who are not pursuing a graduate degree and are within five years of earning their undergraduate degree are also eligible. The applicant must be the presenting author of the poster and a member of the APS Forum for Early Career Scientists (free to join for APS members). Posters may be presented in person or virtually.

Nomination and Selection Process

Please submit an abstract to the “31.03.01 FECS Postdoctoral Poster Competition” sorting category of the March Meeting. Abstracts in any topic covered by the Global Physics Summit are accepted. Again, in addition to submitting an abstract to the FECS Poster Competition, you are still allowed to submit another abstract to any other sorting category. Our expert judging panel will assess posters based on the scientific content and quality of presentation.
