First awarded in 1999, these grants provide needed travel support to allow DGRAV student members to present their work at the APS April Meeting.

The Division of Gravitational Physics (DGRAV) will offer travel grants to support the attendance of graduate students or advanced undergraduate students at APS Global Physics Summit that will be in March 16–21, 2025, Anaheim, CA, and virtually.

The amount of each travel grant can be up to $600 and grants for the virtual component will cover early registration rates. All students who are members of the Division of Gravitational Physics and who are giving talks or presenting posters at the meeting are eligible for grants. Preference will be given to applicants who have not received travel grant support to the APS April Meeting from the division in the past, but all participating DGRAV students are encouraged to submit applications.

The application will request the name and email for a person (Supervisor/Advisor) who can provide a brief (1-2 sentence) statement of support (due by November 22, 2024).

The deadline for applications (inclusive of the statement of support) is November 15, 2024.

Please contact the APS Honors Program Coordinator, Mads Hill (hill@aps.org), for any technical questions related to submitting the application. For any more in-depth questions related to the grant and its requirements, please contact DGRAV Secretary-Treasurer Leo Stein at lcstein@olemiss.edu.

Nominees for and holders of APS Honors (prizes, awards, and fellowship) and official leadership positions are expected to meet standards of professional conduct and integrity as described in the APS Ethics Guidelines. Violations of these standards may disqualify people from consideration or lead to revocation of honors or removal from office.
