Nominations for APS Standing Committees

By Ericka Donielle Stansbury posted 05-30-2024 09:24

Every year the APS seeks nominations for a large number of standing committees (click here for descriptions). We encourage all members to peruse the list and self-nominate. In addition, we would like to make a small number of targeted nominations for committees of particular interest to unit members. If you are interested in being nominated by GSNP, please click here and fill out a short form before Monday morning June 10.

The membership of APS is diverse and global, and the members of APS committees should reflect that diversity so that all are recognized for their impact on our community. Nominations of members belonging to groups traditionally underrepresented in physics, such as women, LGBT+ scientists, scientists who are Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other people of color, disabled scientists, and scientists from outside the United States are especially encouraged. So are candidates from the industrial and private sectors, as well as early career scientists.

Nominee must meets the standards of professional conduct and integrity as described in the APS Guidelines on Ethics. All committee members will be required to complete the APS Professional Conduct Disclosure Form prior to confirmation of their appointment.

Sincerely yours, -Doug (Chair of GSNP)
