APS 2026 GERA Workshop 

GERA is pleased to host an Energy Research Workshop for graduate students and early-career scientists engaged in energy research and technology development. The workshop will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, ahead of the APS Global Physics Summit in Denver, CO.

Workshop Overview

This one-day event will feature:

  • Invited talks by leading experts across diverse areas of energy research and technology, including:

    • Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Energy Research and Applications

    • Catalysis and Photocatalysis for Energy Applications

    • Electrochemical Energy Storage Materials and Devices

    • Recent Advances in Solar Photovoltaics and Energy Conversion: Materials and Devices

    • Triboelectric Nanogenerators (TENGs): Mechanisms and Innovations

  • Informal networking opportunities during the provided lunch and coffee breaks

  • Poster presentations by participants

1. How do I register for the GERA workshop?
You can register through the official APS Global Physics Summit webpage. If you have already registered for the Global Physics Summit, please email registrar@aps.org and they can add the GERA Workshop to your registration. The registration fee for the GERA Energy Workshop is $35.

2. Will funding or financial support be available?
There will be no funding to attend the GERA Workshop. 

3. How do I participate in the poster session?
Once you’ve registered to attend the GERA Workshop, all registered attendees will receive additional information in January regarding the specifications of the poster session. 

4. Who is eligible to attend the workshop?
Any 2026 Global Physics Summit attendee is eligible to attend the workshop; however, students and early career members will likely get the most from the opportunity.

5. Does the workshop include any meals?
The workshop will include a light breakfast, a buffet lunch, and a post event reception.
