You are invited to attend the Joint Spring Meeting of the Texas Sections of the American Association of Physics Teachers and the American Physical Society, and Zone 13 of the Society of Physics Students, March 23-25th.

We have endeavored to create a program of broad interest to university, community college and high school physics students and faculty, and are excited to provide an opportunity to have this wide range of physicists meet and share their experiences with each other.

To make it easier for people to attend,

  • Travel awards are available for graduate, undergraduate and high school students, and high school teachers.
  • High school physics teachers will get professional development certificates for the sessions and workshops they attend.

The meeting includes

  • plenary subjects including dense matter, gravitational waves, physics teacher preparation and the intersections of physics, astronomy and literature.
  • parallel sessions on all areas of physics. These are perfect venues for undergraduate and graduate students to gain experience presenting talks and posters, and their advisors are encouraged to present too!
  • SPS sessions and activities for undergraduate students.
  • an array of workshops on physics teaching aimed at both college and high school faculty.
