The APS Topical Group in Physics Education Research (GPER) Nominating Committee is seeking your assistance in identifying a diverse slate of outstanding candidates to run for leadership positions within the GPER Executive Committee. Serving on the GPER Executive Committee offers an opportunity to influence the direction of PER within the physics community through grants, conferences, and fellowships, and to ensure a strong future for PER.
Current positions open for nomination:
- Vice-Chair (term length: 1 year/ 4 years of service); The member elected as Vice Chair shall serve in that office for one year, then for one year as Chair-Elect, then for one year as Chair of the executive committee, and finally, one year as Past Chair
- Member-at-Large (term length: 2 years)
- Early Career Member-at-Large (terminal degree within past 5 years; term length: 2 years)
- Graduate Student Member-at-Large (term length: 1 year)
- Secretary/Treasurer (term length: 3 years)
The positions will be filled through an election by the membership of the GPER. Elected candidates will begin their terms January 1, 2023.
