Biography:
Professor Urbasi Sinha is a leading experimental quantum physicist at the Raman Research Institute India, a Canada Excellence Research Chair holder and founder of QuSyn Technologies. Her pioneering work in quantum optics, interference, and communication, has positioned her at the forefront of India’s rapidly growing quantum research and innovation ecosystem. Prof. Sinha plays a pivotal role in India's National Quantum Mission and leads the consortium of institutions working towards entanglement distribution based quantum networks.
Abstract:
Prof. Urbasi Sinha will explore the journey of quantum science in India, from fundamental studies in quantum foundations to practical applications in the field. The talk will highlight key experiments, technological developments, and the translation of quantum principles into real-world devices, illustrating how India has contributed to both the theoretical and applied aspects of quantum science. Insights into collaborative efforts, educational initiatives, and challenges in bridging laboratory research with field deployment will also be discussed.
