Prof. Dr. Ghaleb Natour will discuss the Palestinian-German Science Bridge (PGSB) as a vector to build capacity for Palestine Research and Innovation. The PGSB is a pilot project financed by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research BMBF and implemented jointly by Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH and Palestinian Academy for Science and Technology PALAST to develop a joint research and education program. it provides the most brilliant science and technology graduates from Palestinian universities with access to state-of-the-art equipment for the experimental part of their Master's thesis and the possibility to follow-up with a PhD thesis project in Jülich.
The long-term vision of the PGSB is using the high level of science and technology in Europe to help establish infrastructure enabling research and innovation at Palestinian universities and institutions also in connection to regional research centers like SESAME.

Biography: Prof. Dr. Ghaleb Natour was born in Qalansawa (Israel) in 1960, is a Palestinian, Israeli, and German citizen, has lived in Germany since 1979, studied physics in Heidelberg, worked as a scientist and engineering & technology manager in Aachen, Germany for 18 years. Today he is institute director at Forschungszentrum Jülich and a university professor at RWTH Aachen University. Prof. Natour is co-founder and chairman of the board of the Association for the Promotion of Peace in Israel and Palestine and co-founder and CEO of the German-Arab Bridge for Innovation in Science and Technology  . Prof. Dr. Ghaleb Natour is the initiator and scientific director of the Palestinian-German Science Bridge (PGSB) project started in 2017.
