A Note from Denise Hinkel (2022 DPP Chair)
Dear DPP Community:
Registration for this year’s APS-DPP meeting will open soon, with the upcoming meeting to be held October 17-21, 2022 in Spokane, WA. We are once again hosting a hybrid meeting, featuring improvements over last year’s meeting based on feedback from the DPP community. We plan to live stream not only invited, review and tutorial presentations, but also the contributed oral presentations. We continue to work with APS meetings on the best poster session experience we can provide, given the hybrid nature of our meeting.
While we plan to live stream all oral sessions at additional costs, we are also looking to keep registration fees at the same level as last year:
Registration Type (Virtual and In-Person)
Up To September 12
After September 12
Early Career APS Member
Early Career APS Non-Member
Retired/Unemployed APS Member
Graduate Student Member
Graduate Student Non-Member
Undergraduate/High School Student
One-Day APS Member
One-Day APS Non-Member
Note: One-Day Member and One-Day Non-Member is only available for In-Person, not for the Virtual attendees.
The additional costs DPP incurs (>$200K) to enhance the virtual meeting experience are not being passed on to virtual attendees, that is, these fees will hold for both in-person and virtual attendees, just as they did last year. Additionally, virtual attendees benefit from the lack of travel costs. After DPP-2022, the Executive Committee will carefully assess the costs associated with the hybrid meeting format and will determine if changes in the registration fees for future meetings are required.
As the meeting approaches, we are also preparing for the banquet. This year, we plan to host a presentation during dinner, “A stroll through DPP history”. This presentation will also initiate an archiving of our DPP story. If you have any DPP pictures or memorabilia you are willing to share with the community via this presentation, please send your remembrances to Saralyn Stewart (email@example.com) no later than September 12, 2022.
Thank you, and we look forward to an excellent meeting this year!
2022 APS-DPP Chair

Banquet tickets are non-refundable for both pre-meeting and on-site purchases.
If you cancel your registration, you must do so in writing (email accepted). Written cancellations must be sent to the APS Registrar by October 13, 2022. All cancellations are assessed a $50 cancellation fee regardless of the reason for canceling.
