    New Comer here,

I enjoyed the easy to sit in or visit other talks and discussions. Wished the presenters were more aware/involved with the presentation and chat on the public website as some messages and questions weren't read. But I specifically enjoyed the Neutron Star Theory session and, of course, the Black Hole imaging talk last night!

I enjoyed it, though I don't think I got nearly as much out of it as I could have just because there is so much stuff to pick from.

I am an APS member, but I am not a researcher. I am a user of physics, looking for new ways to use the physics we have, rather than looking for new physics.Β  I would not have thought of attending this meeting unless it was free and online.Β  Like everyone else, I'm teleworking and I can take a couple days off to do this on my home internet.Β  I could never justify using the bandwidth at work -- none of this is even remotely related to what I do -- but this has lots of the cool stuff -- exoplanets, gravity waves, black holes, etc.Β  I enjoyed the Saturday night lecture so I could see more of the detail that you didn't get in the news about the black hole image.

I haven't touched high energy physics since grad school, but it was nice to see what they're doing.Β  I can flit in and out of different topics -- something you could never do in person without that embarrassing sneaking in and out the door while making as little noise as possible and failing miserably.Β  And it's great to be able to re-watch a talk, and re-run a bit over stuff I didn't quite get the first time.Β  I can even google terms I don't know at the same time while I'm re-watching it.Β  But it can't be good for the presenters since they can't see who they're talking to.

    So, it's been fun.

It was nice and informative. I like how many opportunities there are to interact with other attendees. Are the videos going to be available on-demand later? I haven't been able to attend every talk I'm interested in.

@Jean Paul Nathaniel Jackson Sadia, I believe the sessions are currently available for playback. Just go to the desired session, click the "Watch Now" button (if available), and then click "Watch Again".

I have really enjoyed it! There was one talk that I wanted to see (Few-Body Nuclear Physics ) that wasn't working but other than that everything has been going very smoothly for me.

It's definitely been interesting, but, besides yesterday, I think I'm going to have to watch the recordings. One of the takeaways was trying to figure out technical issues, since I live in Nevada. I'm definitely interested in LIGO results and what's going on with that, because I went to WSU, in Pullman, WA, so got to tour the LIGO facility. I'm just excited that these videos can be watched at a later date, since I work tomorrow and don't want to get up super early to watch certain lectures.

Hi! This is my first time at the conference.

I did have one question. Is there any way for poster presenters to interact with their audience? I missed the earlier poster session today to see what to expect, and am supposed to be "presenting" tomorrow. Any advice?

Hi @Kathleen M Halloran! Hope you're enjoying the conference thus far.

To answer your question, unfortunately there is no presenting to an audience in the formal sense. YouΒ may upload a 5 minute video or audio file to accompany your poster and attendees may interact with you via the networking tool.

If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to ask me. 😁

Having the chance to basically TiVo the lectures is a big plus. A lot of these talks can fly over my head and a second or third go may better help in understanding.
