    Dear all,

    We are very excited about the virtual April Meeting, but being our first one on a brand new platform, we have encountered some problems which are being addressed as quickly as possible. We will post here about these problems and workarounds.

    Don't see a Watch Now button for a session that is happening now? There is a bug that prevents users from time zones outside of EDT from viewing these buttons in a timely manner.  You can switch your computer time zone to EDT and try reloading the page. Alternatively, you can click on the session's Details link and then edit the URL by changing /sessions/ to /live-stream/".

    I am getting a 404 page for some sessions. Please be sure you are trying to view a live session. You can use the Session and Events page and filter by the tag 'Live'. We will be removing the button from the On Demand sessions and not showing these sessions on the front page. When browsing sessions, look for the 'Live' tag on the left side of the display.

    Where can I view uploaded slides and PDFs from the speakers?
    Please go to the old Epitome (under the Program menu in the top navigation bar). Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we are not able to make them directly available on the virtual April Meeting site at this time. We hope to post them there as well soon.

    An update:

    Watch Now button
    For the 'Watch Now' issue in non-EDT time zones, a partial fix has been put into place. The 'Watch Now' button should now automatically activate at the session start time for those outside of the EDT time zone. Please let us know if this isn't your experience.

    404 Not Found for On Demand sessions
    This is fixed. The 'Watch Now' button should not appear for On Demand sessions.

    Hi! I am having trouble with the "Network with Attendees" part of the event. I have tried to click on  "Network with Attendees" at the bottom of the APS page, but it doesn't work. Also, I tried to google and find the link, but the only thing that comes up is a page that says "Network with Attendees" at the top and nothing else. Thank you so much!

    Hmm, not sure what the issue may be. This module is managed by a separate vendor, so please try emailing support@grip.events. Hopefully they will be able to help you. Please do update us either way.

    Not sure if this is where you want tech issues posted, but there was a reply button....

    Sometimes when I click on 'Watch' for a session I just gel a black screen page in my browser.  Refreshing the page gets me to the session, but I don't know where the black screen comes from.

    Also, if I'm in a session and click on 'back' I end up back at the general session page, showing April 18 sessions, not on the day I was on.  And it would be nice to have a 'Next' button on the top and the bottom of the page of sessions for easier navigation.

    Hi Anne,

    The black screen is something that seems to be happening to some people. We aren't sure what causes it, but refreshing is the suggested fix. If you have a minutes, please let us know what operating system and browser you are using. If possible, include the version numbers. We can pass this onto to the vendor to help test/debug and perhaps fix the issue.

    Regarding the session navigation, yes, this is annoying (I reported before the start of the conference myself). There isn't time to fix it unfortunately, but we will for future meetings. The best workaround I have found is to right-click on the session or details link to open the link in another tab and then just go back to the session listing after you close the new tab.

    OS Name     Microsoft Windows 10 Home, Version: 10.0.18363 Build 18363

    Browser: Chrome, Version 80.0.3987.163 (Official Build) (64-bit)
